| Oakland Activist & Media Master Joe Hawkins Supports Griot Soul Films Look for information about the Black LGBT Community in Oakland and you will inevitably run into the work of the magnetic Joe Hawkins. His projects to enhance the quality of life in Oakland for the Black Same Gender Loving BT community are legendary. When Joe encountered the mission and vision of Griot Soul Films he became an immediate supporter. Joe launched into action making space for Griot Soul Films at the 6th International Oakland Black LGBT Film Festival and introducing the non-profit to a slew of new supporters.
